Blackpink's Jennie Becomes the First Korean Idol to Star in a Hollywood Series

 For those of you who follow the K-pop world, especially the girl group Blackpink, you must be familiar with the figure of Jennie Kim, right? Interestingly, in 2022, Jennie Blackpink will make her debut in the world of acting.


Launching Soompi , Jennie Blackpink will debut as an actress through the HBO production Hollywood series entitled The Idol . Amazingly, Jennie became the first South Korean idol to appear in a Hollywood film or series. You can even see Jennie's first appearance in the official trailer for The Idol series which was just released some time ago.


In the trailer, you can catch a glimpse of Jennie Kim in a scene where many people drink while standing, including actress Lily-Rose Depp. Jennie was seen wearing a mint -colored top and black shorts. Unfortunately, until now it has not been revealed who the name of the character that will be played by Jennie or how big her involvement in the series is.


For your information, The Idol is a series created by Sam Levinson, which was previously successful with Euphoria and The Weeknd, who is more famous as a singer. The series' story will focus on a pop singer (Lily-Rose Depp) who is romantically involved with a cult leader (The Weeknd). The Idol is scheduled for release in 2022, but the exact release date is not yet known.
