Sony Pictures Says Top Gun: Maverick Can Succeed Because Venom: Let There Be Carnage

 36 years after the release of the first film Top Gun (1986), Paramount Pictures has finally released its sequel, Top Gun: Maverick (2022). In the midst of being hit by superhero films that are so popular at the moment, Maverick is proof that the audience's interest in non-superhero films is still great! The proof, Maverick is now in the first place of the highest grossing film in 2022.


Maverick is the first highest-grossing film in 2022 because it managed to earn as much as 1.24 billion dollars (approximately Rp. 18.6 trillion). Our biggest bet is that when every other big movie 'runs away', we release Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) which is our biggest and most important intellectual property (IP)," said Josh Greenstein, president of Sony's Motion Picture Group.
